Every character starts as a Hero. From level 1 to 8 you slot any 4 abilities and swap them freely.
Lock in, then draw
Past level 8 your starter abilities lock. Every level after that is a random draw: a talent on odd levels, a skill card on even levels.
Reroll with the Eye of Unlearning
Drew something that does not fit? The Eye of Unlearning rerolls any ability or talent, including locked starter picks.
